Npower are presently engaged in the implementation of one of the largest SAP implementation in the UK. The Atlas Programme utilises SAP for Utilities as the core of the solution incorporating FI/CO, HCM for the back office as well as CRM and IS-U to handle customer enquiries and billing. The Atlas project is part of a major infrastructure programme across nPower designed to provide npower with an end-to-end industry compliant solution to manage its energy retail activities. With IBM acting as the Systems Integrator and iTrain delivering the Change Management and Training programmes, Npower will extend the technology to incorporate Commercial customers and smart metering and billing systems.

Enabling Change

iTrain were engaged by Npower to provide all components of the change management and training programme for the rollout of the Atlas SAP training programme, providing additional change management and training support for the FI/CO and HCM components. iTrain provided an expert team, initially to support the development of the training in conjunction with the Npower Change Management team. The iTrain team were brought in to understand and document the specific business and system processes and to provide comprehensive classroom and eLearning content using uPerform and Infopak development technologies. A full team of iTrain trainers were commissioned to include strategy development, logistics, project management, on-boarding, data preparation and training delivery for this programme incorporating Npower BAU trainers as part of the team to ensure that the training delivery was shared and that iTrain and nPower partnered the subsequent transfer of all programmes to BAU training.

iTrain delivered the entire training project providing knowledge transfer and support across the project using our expert trainers to provide industry best practice advice to Npower as well as to their IBM integration partners. The onboarding of the training team involved the deployment of 20 iTrain trainers to the programme within the space of 4 weeks to ensure that the top loading requirements of the training were fulfilled by iTrain allowing Npower to concentrate on the rollout of the technology programme and iTrain to handle the peak training load requirements associated with such a major project rollout.
