Enabling Change

The Tri.Can project formed a major part of ‘Transformation for Success’ within Canon and was concerned with the design and implementation of new business policies, processes, organization and management systems for one of the companies most important sales channels as well as support functions shared across the business unit. Tri.Can was a massive re-engineering of the Canon business supported by a new common IT system, Oracle eBusiness Suite covering CRM, Supply Chain, Service and Enterprise Asset Management

iTrain worked with Canon providing key resources to define, develop and deliver implementation services across the project’s pan-European rollout delivering the system to units in Holland, Germany, Denmark and numerous other European bases.  iTrain provided specialist functional expertise to design and configure the system modules.  In particular, the team delivered training across the business suite to provide Sales and Service implementations including Field Service for on the road maintenance engineers.  The system was configured to provide GIS mapping data to engineers to indicate locations and requirement using Field Service and these were fully integrated with the Enterprise Asset Management module.

On the project in addition to the functional and technical integration programme, iTrain was responsible for  super user training and go live support spending time in the NSOs (National Sales Organisations) after the go-live to assist the super users and users, as required.  Due to the expertise iTrain was able to demonstrate support was extended to include participating and supporting the performance of various testing activities per country.  These included preparation, producing test scripts, documenting the defects and following up on the solution of defects.
